Overview
A fast ground-attack fighter based on the design of the TIE-Fighter. As part of Benulobiweed Inc. first TIE-line this ship was entirely assembled in the workshops of the company and exclusively sold to government militaries.
Since it proofed impossible to include missiles into the ship 2 external launchers were attached to the wings. The additional load reduced the speed, however, the shield boosters are able to offer protection against some heavy hits. Mainly used for hit & run missions this fighter approaches a prior marked target, launches 4 missiles and then jumps out of the system. While originally designed for planetary attacks this tactic worked against capital-ships as well.
With a similar visually to the other TIEs of this line this ship could be identified by the 2 missile launchers attached to the wings.
Once in a while, you can find a decommissioned TIE/GA01 Fighter in a shipyard for sale. Even if the price is reasonable for a ship of this quality you better keep in mind that the engines are incompatible with a Galactic Hyperdrive.

Remarks
Loosely based on the TIE/GT Starfighter from Star Wars universe.
The fighters engines are incompatible with a Galactic Hyperdrive. After you started them (usually when leaving a station) the drive will become damaged and later explode.
Known Issues
These textures were designed for V 1.88, the latest Oolite V 1.90 is using a much brighter light model and therefore rendering the appearance of the ships. If you prefer the previous light here is a tip from another_commander: modifying shaders
