Bounty Hunter Guild (BHG)

Overview

The Bounty Hunter Guild (BHG), is an institution that regulates the profession of the bounty-hunting trade throughout the GalCop space. It is composed of many individuals, groups and organizations, each with its own regulations, specialties and agendas. While working close with GalCop, GalCop Police, Galactic Navy, local governments and various cooperations and syndicates, it curates the bounties for its members but also has a code all members are mandated to follow. Breaking the guilds code usually results in a high bounty payable after the termination of the rouge hunter.

With bounties coming in from often-questionable sources, and with mercenaries and assassins being part of the guild, it comes naturally that the boundaries of the law are often blurred, specially if the bounty requires "only dead". While GalCop requires a valid license for GalCop's Most Wanted, most customers are just interested in results. No wonder that a fugitive assassin from yesterday could be your deputy of today in the next system.

Organization

The guild is lead by an elected guild master, assisted by the guild council. The council consists of representatives of the member organizations and elected individuals.

  • Guild Academy
Available to every member. Veterans will train you anything you need to know about spaceships and combat.
  • Guild Armory
Any ship, weapon or system you are looking for ? If not on stock, it will not take long to find for their members. Sure, a bit more expensive, but it will save you a lot of time.
  • Guild Intelligence
Provides the members with profiles of every target plus background information of people of interest in GalCop space. For some Credits a deep check on nearly any individual is available. With various connections in all social classes, it is common knowledge that even Galactic Navy Intelligence is exchanging data with them.

Representation

Guild agents maintain hubs all over the Eight, usually in the form of cantinas, the most known of which are probably the Seedy Space Bars. By accessing the guild's network, all targets could be viewed with the most wanted on holo-display at the main-bar. Marks at the GalCop Security Offices are not indent with the ones in the cantinas !

Services

The guild provides several services for their clients:

  • pursue an individual or a group to either apprehend or neutralize the target (bounty hunters & assassins)
  • protection of individuals, groups or locations (bodyguards, escorts, defenders)
  • military support for organizations, syndicates or government institutions (GalCop deputies, GN reservists, mercenaries)

Ships

While by no means any uniform hull paint is required, the most common style spotted is black/red with the guilds' emblem attached. Specially beginners and hunters specialized in pirate extermination often render their ships like that to gain a small tactical advantage.
