About
Griff has been working on producing some fantastic models of ships, which use normalmapping and shaders to produce some of the best looking ships available in Oolite. Not all ships are supported yet, announcements are made on the forum, so keep an eye on this thread.

Griff's Normalmapped Ships OXPs
Following the new guidelines on OXP Distribution, the all-in-1-bundle oxp has been split into a Resources oxp containing all the ship models, textures and shader files, and two Config oxps, one which replaces the core shipset with these ships and one which adds this ships alongside the default shipset (and any other ship packs you may have installed), download links are:
- Resources 1.2.23
- Core shipset Replacement 1.1. (V1.1 now includes Commander McLane's bugfix).
- Core shipset Addition 1.01
so to recap, you need to install the Resources oxp and one of either Core shipset Replacement or Core shipset Addition (depending on how you want these ships to appear in your game)
Massive thanks to Capt. Murphy for creating the Griff_Shipset_Replace oxp
Individual Downloads
Link to a list of the ships available as individual downloads in case you only want to add one or two of them to your game or keep your models from the starter pack up-to-date.
Griff's multi-decal Player Cobra Mk III adds a Cobra Mk III with support for 4 decals. Info on how to amend the decal textures and their placement on the ship is in the OXP's readme.txt file.
If you're using the Core shipset Addition oxp, a further oxp to start a new Jameson in a Griff Cobra Mk III is available here or alternatively, an oxp to start a new game in a scuffed Griff Cobra Mk III is available here Please note: only install one of these, don't have both installed at the same time as one will conflict with the other.
Griff's Other OXPs
Dodo Stations OXP by Griff and CaptKev (1.4Mb).
Retextured Dodecahedron stations OXP, v1.1. Updated version released 18th May 2010, Griff has fixed a problem with the shaders.
Flying Dutchman OXP (31.0Kb).
Featuring Griff's Wireframe Cobra.
Adds the small chance to meet a Ghost Ship in the Ooniverse. What is it? Some claim that it's the ghost of Commander Peter Jameson, reported lost at the end of the last Thargoid War, others that it is simply a manifestation of all those lost souls who were trapped in the trackless depths of interstellar space. One common story is the trail of bad luck and hideous deaths that follow in the wake of the ship's sightings...
Griff's ArcElite (201.2 Kb).
New versions of the native Oolite ships textured & shaded to resemble how they originally appeared in the Acorn Archimedes version of Elite.
Griff's Boa OXP (2.7Mb).
Box.com link containing the famous Griff Boa, as featured in the "Oolite - It's not just for triangles anymore" images. Note: the Boa is not included in the Normalmapped Ships OXP as above. Note also that this OXP only works on Oolite 1.74.
Griff's Explosion Debris OXP (1.3Mb).
Box.com link to an OXP that adds new alloy & debris models to exploding ships. The oxp features some cool scripting and AI coding by Thargoid which chains together various types of exploding junk in some pretty dazzling ways. Installation is a little fiddly, with a script entry needed to be added to any ship's shipdata.plist. For more information see this thread on the BB. This OXP was released in 2009.
Griff's Alloys & Wreckage OXP (1.5mb).
Boc.com link to an OXP for Oolite v1.75 and higher that adds a new models & texture for the 'Alloys'. The OXP also generates extra clouds of burning wreckage whenever ships explode. This OXP was released in 2011.
Griff's Krait OXP (2.5Mb).
A heavily modified Krait, similar in design to the Griff Boa. Note: the Krait is not included in the Normalmapped Ships OXP as above.
