About Cpt

A player, not a programmer...

Cpt likes exploring OXPs and has been known to comment on the forum...

Experience

An Elite player with a spectrum of experience, my tastes were for Vanilla Oolite but I now err towards OXP Ooheavy version of Oolite.

I confess to experimenting with OXPs to enhance my game play experience, I have compiled a list of OXPs that I would recommend.

My Recommended OXPs List

Check out these add ons...

Anarchies = Some places to go when Galcop become too interested in getting to know you...

Automated Pylon Re-arm In-flight Loader When there are never enough slots and you want to give out more...

Baakili Far Trader = An occasional new trading opportunity...

Big Ships = This adds AI for larger ships to make life more interesting.

Bounty Scanner = Use with the Scanner Targeting Enhancement equipment to see how much you'll earn from a fight.

Buoy Repair = Makes the space lanes a little busier and essential if you have a lot of thargoids eating your bouys and parking meters etc...

Deep Space Dredger = Credits you with the ability to salvage ships...

Deep Space Pirates = No need to feel lonely anywhere...

Escort Contracts = Get paid to save a trader from the Pirates

Extra Fuel tanks = Don't get stranded without fuel.. especially not in witch-space

Factions = If it feels like a warzone getting to the 'S' Aegis already. wait till you add this to multi-government worlds...

Fuel Station Useful for short stops on longer runs and when you are nauhty if you hide in them so attackers miss you and hit the Fuel station they then get a bounty on them.

Furball Seeing a Spacestation and docking is more interesting when a bar-room brawl beckons explodes into space...

Galactic Navy= Play Oolite starship troopers style...

Hired Guns = Early on a bit of help is essential from time to time especially if you opt for a trader vessel...

HyperCargo = I want all the Cargo I can carry and then I want more...

Iron Hide = Gives you more time in a fight before damage gets critical..

Jaguar Company = Well another port in the storm and they come out and play in witchspace too.

Illegal Goods tweak = Lets you wear a white hat and give customs any naughty goods you acquired..

Liners = Puts tourists in harms way...

[Market aide] = Especially good early on helps you to discern a turkey from a bargain

Misjump analyser A great help when trying to get 'lost' into space, especially when hunting Thargoids!

military Fiasco = Because you are not busy enough and the bounties are sweet.

Offender traders = Makes NPC pay for being naughty by becoming Offenders, so that is a bounty and cargo on offer...

Ore Processor = Lets you turn splinters sometimes from minerals into something more precious...

Pirate Coves = Lets have more pirates.

Planetfall = Lets visit that planet or moon.

Police IFF Scanner Upgrade = It is nice to have advanced warning of who is clean, a pirates or somewhere in between...

Random Hits = Get paid to take out some more challenging pilots...

Random Shipnames = Randomly names the NPC ships, sometimes these make me smile...

Sniperlock = Helps to keep slippery customers in sight...

Stellar Serpents = Something else to do...

Thargoid Carrier = Now these guys do real damage up close, but a 2000 bounty is just so attractive

Thargoid Wars = From Galaxy 2 onwards they come more often for your parking meters...

Total Patrol = Lengthens the arm of the law to more places in System...

Vector = Something to hunt down... just what you need another quest.

Welcome Mat = Lets you know if Thargoids, Police or Pirates are about in large numbers when you arrive from hyperspace in a new system.
