Dave "Selezen" Hughes, is a long-time Elite player and contributor to Oolite.

Contributions to the Elite community include mending his troll-like ways on the EBBS, writing several ship OXPs for Oolite and co-writing the Tionisla Orbital Graveyard OXP. He was part of the "dream team" producing new ship textures for vanilla Oolite as shaders were introduced after Aegidian stepped down as Lead Developer in 2006.

He is best known for out of date bio pages, failed attempts at blogging and never finishing anything he starts if it takes longer than a week.

Although he has been involved with Elite and the spin-off games since 1984, he has only become active in the community since 2005, at which time he developed a troubling tendency to talk about himself in the third person. Before this, his biggest contribution to the community was the creation of an Elite universe roleplaying game which was played around the campus of Nottingham Trent University for over two years.

Interests include programming, web design and graphic design. He penned a webcomic called Battle Barge, based on wargaming and roleplaying, which was completed in 2009 after four years. Oolite is in it at one point, too.

In 2010 he and his wife started an online support network for adults and children suffering from ADHD and its effects.

For some reason Selezen has been given admin status on this wiki. And he didn't even need to kiss anyone's ass. Unusual.

With the long-awaited news that Elite IV was finally coming (otherwise known as Elite Dangerous) Selezen eventually realised that this was a great opportunity to seek the license to write the first official Elite RPG and realise the dream of nearly 20 years.
