Your ship is being targeted (or attacked)!
Contents
Overview
There are three alert conditions in vanilla game Oolite: Green, Yellow and Red.
These are shown on your HUD.
Nova Lux HUD: green alert condition
Green alert condition
- There are no powered ships in range of your scanner. You are not under attack.
The Torus drive is thus usable.
If there are (for example) Witchspace Beacons, Stations or large massed bodies in your vicinity (eg. massive OXP asteroids!), you will not be able to engage your hyperspace drive.
But you can still kill yourself by smashing into an asteroid, for example!
Nova Lux HUD: yellow alert condition
Yellow alert condition
- There are powered ships in range of your scanner. You are not under attack.
- or You are close to a planet or a sun.
The Torus drive is unusable - you are "mass-locked"
Nova Lux HUD: red alert condition
Red alert condition
You are in danger!
- You are being targeted and maybe even attacked.
- or You are very close to a planet or a sun.
- or You have very low energy levels (eg through use of ECM)
- or Your cabin temperature is too high
Plagiarism HUD's "critical condition"
OXP tweaks
These usually result from the operation of HUD OXPs.
Red alert combined with damage can create a critical condition (Killer Wolf's Dynamic HUD, Plagiarism HUD).

OXPs
- WOOT-Attack! causes ships you target (and create a red alert for) to react appropriately!
