Overview

The CB-HUD Mark III is developed and produced by the Crab-Boolean Corporation located on Riredi in galaxy 1.

Features

Why this new HUD?

A while ago, I read on the CombatMFD wiki page that currently (July 2023) only Vimana HUD uses the additional displays and values that CombatMFD provides for custom dials in HUDs. I thought that's a real shame, because with the help of CombatMFD and the new keys for custom dials in the hud.plist, completely new possibilities open up, even without any knowledge of JavaScript, allowing you to create a custom HUD and then adapt it to your own needs and personal preferences.

To showcase at least a few of the new features available since Oolite version 1.81, I created a new HUD and can now present to our community: - - - tadaaa! - - - The Crab-Boolean CB-HUD Mark III.

As of today, the CB-HUD Mark III is designed as a pure hud.plist HUD and thus uses neither any JavaScript nor external images. (I only renamed the hud.plist and included the small script provided by Norby to make the HUD compatible with HUDSelector.oxz.)

I hope the new possibilities may encourage some players to do a first step into the Dark Side of the game. Customizing the HUD to your own ideas and preferences is a good way to start, I can say that from my own experience.

Minimum requirements

Monitor Resolution

This HUD works best 16:10. Other resolutions work, but little space may be left for left and right MFD´s.

Known Issues

This .oxz is not compatible with the Target Reticle.oxp as it already has this feature.

Installation

After downloading, move or copy the .OXZ-folder into the ManagedAddOns folder of your oolite installation.
