Overview

The Gecko was patented by Robert Bream, but was not manufactured until Ace and Faber improved upon the original design specifications after the death of the inventor.

The Gecko "Dragonface" variant as first depicted by a nameless artist in The Space Traders Flight Training Manual.

Later the design was stolen and widely circulated to a number of "back-yard" workshops who produced the ship in vast numbers with many individual variances to protect companies against lawsuits.

It is mainly used as a single-pilot combat craft, typically by pirates.

Variants

A popular fuselage decoration of the pirate's Gecko designed to instantly strike fear into the hearts of craven traders, the "Dragonface", has undoubtedly inspired a later variant of this ship, the Gecko "Dragon Class". It is, by some claimed, to be the most popular variant, while others hold the opinion that the most mysterious variant still remains the Green Gecko.
