Overview

This OXP adds the fabulous Headquarters of Isis Interstellar to Galaxy 2.

And it adds the Poltergeist ship (an updated Spectre), the Neith Beam Laser and the Kathos Military Laser to your Ooniverse.

You will also find intriguing changes in buying fuel on the F3 equipment screen.

Lore

Not a company that could ever be accused of being humble or shy, Isis Interstellar’s homebase was deliberately designed to represent everything the company stood for, from its Egyptian heritage to its current militaristic might and market power.

The structure was built in huge construction yards on G2 Cebior, and whilst doing wonders for the local economy there were a lot of dark accusations that Isis Interstellar were in effect using the population as a human shield. Deep in their conflict with the WinterHaven Corp, having obliterated their production facility on G6 Latius in retaliation for the infamous “Cobra MkV incident”, a retaliatory strike against Isis Interstellar was considered very probable, and basing their project in planetary cities would thereby deter WinterHaven Corp from attacking. These accusations were never addressed by Miss Gold, but if that was indeed the plan, it worked, and construction proceeded without incident. The segments of the station were then towed into place, under heavy cover from fleets of Isis Interstellar fighters based in asteroid hangars – after completion some of these asteroids were sold off, and have become everything from private residences to company hangars and even – it is rumoured – pirate bases.

Company boss Miss Gold and most of Isis Interstellar’s main personnel live here, and the quality of facilities and residences provided for staff have made Isis Interstellar an extremely desirable company to work for. Colossal amounts of business space inside the structures are filled with everything from ship design workshops, weapons testing ranges, pilot training programs and all manner of design and construction offshoots, including station interior design and production; ship décor and fittings; sales, repairs and servicing; robotics; machinery; and Isis Interstellar merchandising ~ having grown far beyond the original individual “Owners’ Group” type cliques created by the first Vampire pilots the company has become an established market presence and Miss Gold and other members of the company have a celebrity status amongst the huge number of fans throughout the eight galaxies. The Isis Interstellar brand brings in a substantial amount of extra income, and thousands of hardcore fans and curious people visit the station each year to look around, see the ships and get a chance to fly some of the more exotic vessels.

For those not interested in the ships, the station has some extremely high-class hotels and apartments, and a huge range of entertainments including malls, casinos, sports complexes and one of the biggest and most beautiful station-based parklands.

As can be expected from the company, the station is extremely well defended. As well as powerful shields, the station is rumoured to have a formidable array of anti-ship cannons and missiles built into the towers that stand at the corners of the main platform. So far, however, no threat has been great enough to bring these defences to bear – the few ships that have been unwise enough to make attacks on the station and her traffic have been summarily dealt with by the station’s resident squadron of Poltergeist fighters.

Worthy of a visit or photo opportunity if you happen to jump to Cebior, the station is also a good place to pick up discounted ordnance, and to buy the civilian variant of the Poltergeist.

Box.com - unzip the OXP and drop into your AddOns folder (see Installing an OXP for more detail)

Tweaks

To add this station to your Ship Library:

Create an empty text-file using a Text Editor which does not introduce invisible code into the text-file.

Call it shiplibrary.plist and paste the following inside:

(
	{
	class = station;
	description = "Isis Interstellar HQ";
	ship = "KW_II";
	summary = "Station";
	description = "The Galactic Headquarters & Shipyard of Isis Interstellar, located at G2 Cebior";
	},
	{
	class = ship;
	description = "Poltergeist";
	ship = "polternpc";
	summary = "Ship";
	description = "An updated Isis Interstellar Spectre (Vampire MkV), specifically designed for the war against the Thargoids";
	},
)

Drop the file into the config folder inside the OXP (really just a folder - on an AppleMac click on it with control held down)
