Fer-de-Lance NG (NG-1)
Overview
The Fer-de-Lance NG, later also known as NG-1, is an improved Fer-de-Lance and was produced under license by a now forgotten shipyard on Xeatxe, sector 2. The design was optimized for only one goal, incredible speed. With only basic shields and 2 laser mounts the best option for the pilot in case of an attack was to run. While also used by traders the majority of the ships was flown by bounty hunters and criminals.
After the bombardment of the shipyard during the endless civil war on the planet Biarge United Shipyards purchased the license and started with the layout of the Fer-de-Lance NG-2. In the meanwhile Zorgon Petterson Group proudly announced the 3G series of the Fer-de-Lance ships, making the introduction of another NG to the open market kind of challenge.

Remarks
This OXP was developed for Oolite V 1.76, includes obsolete code and since the author is unknown and no license is available we are not able to improve it for later versions. If you are interested in an up-to-date ship of this kind we suggest installing Fer-de-Lance NG-2.

Fer-de-Lance NG-2
Overview
The Fer-de-Lance NG-2 series included various models, the Fer-de-Lance NG-2C Courier, the Fer-de-Lance NG-2Y Yacht and the Fer-de-Lance NG-2F Fighter. The NG-2F and later the NG-2N Navy abandoned the luxurious approach of Zorgon Petterson Group and offered a puristic style with a lot of firepower for a reasonable price. Ironically these ships got the most contracts and saved the entire series.
Fer-de-Lance NG-2C
Nearly similar to the original Fer-de-Lance NG, only some small modifications were done. Unfortunately a limited clientele remained, not armed well enough for the more adventures pilots with not enough cargo for a daily trader this ship never sold well.
Fer-de-Lance NG-2Y
With a larger hull a serious competition to the Mussurana Void-Yacht, cheaper and in most aspects better. Like with other high-speed yachts the major problem for the owners was to find escorts fast enough to stay in formation. To fix this issue a deal with Space Security Group (SSG) was done, in exchange for a squadron of Fer-de-Lance NG-2F for a (very) reasonable price this company would offer discounted escort services for all clean holders of a Fer-de-Lance NG-2Y. Basically a win-win for all parties involved.
Fer-de-Lance NG-2F
After the Gecko "Dragon Class" another darling for every pilot and organization in need of speed and firepower for daily living or for suddenly accruing situations. Used by escorts, bounty hunters, assassins and pirates this ship serves in various police forces and navies as a quick reaction force (QRF) as well.

Credits
An unknown author for the basic concept, the NG-2F and NG-2N are inspired by the Renegade Fer-de-Lance and the Fer-de-Lance 3G, thanks a lot to LittleBear and UK Eliter.

Remarks
The Fer-de-Lance NG-2 is an on the current core-model based remake of the original ship. It includes a (nearly) exact copy of the original ship plus some more variants.
