Maaarcooose has a painful background that has left him with memories of another life and a desire for revenge.
Formally a GalCop experiment to produce superior assassins (he was number 5) for covert operations, his previous memory all but erased from existence, he broke through his programming after many missions and ran from GalCop, threatening the leaders of the operation due to his enhanced abilities but telling them that if they left him alone, he would not pursue them.
For the next five years he lived in seclusion on a planet on a remote portion of chart six colonised by peoples from the oriental continents of ancient earth and married a local woman to whom he devoted his life.
For five years he spent hours each day simply enjoying the secluded life, meditating, mediating local disputes with great skill and understanding or practising exquisite sword work only for the purpose of enhancing his mental state. He became known locally as the state protector, a fairly low responsibility position, generally seen as a figurative title only, but one that he took seriously becoming practically a local peace keeper.
This all came crashing down not long after the birth of his only son.
After a long day mediating on a land dispute in a neighbouring province, he returned home to find shadowy assassins waiting for him. Dispatching them with fantastic skill, he ran to protect his wife, but found her dying on the floor of his home from multiple stab wounds.
Consumed with rage, Maaarcooose vowed revenge and realising that the road to revenge would be hard, no place for a child, gave his infant son a choice. Choose the blade or the toy, promising to send him to be with his mother if he chose the toy. With no understanding, his son chose the sword, damning them both to the path of revenge which his father sought.
Maaarcooose now roams the charts with his young son, seeking out those that created him and making a living as an assassin for hire.
If you see a Pitviper, blasting past you, adorned with the scars of countless battles that may be him. And occasionally you will hear his young son, singing songs of death and betrayal over the comms in a long dead earth language. This ship is equipped with a fairly distinctive weapon system. Next to the standard lasers it has a forward facing, close range cutting weapon. His preferred tactics are to take the majority of a ships shields and energy down from afar with lasers and then close in, using the cutting weapon in a sword like manner, matching the methods in which he wields a conventional blade when up close and personal.
Maaarcooose is a title he no longer uses. He sees it as the name of his former life. He is now Assassin#5. Only when he finally dies and returns to the infinite void will his name be restored.
"Death is inevitable, but I refuse to die until the guilty have begged at my feet for mercy and receive none."
