It seems to me that this page structure is confusing: that there are four underlying main sections on Vortex, Maelstrom (where it differs), scooped escape pods and lastly about the oxp itself.
(Note made as there is no time for me to deal with it at the present).

Vortex and Malstrom are ships with many built-in features, I guess that what you call the OXP. The reference to escape pods just points out that if you rotate your cargo bay, your rescued passengers are lost.
