Overview
The Hawk is a rare and unusual ship, in that few models have been made, and few can afford it. what justifies its high price is a design onus on shields, regeneration and speed, making it an ideal small getaway craft for those with powerful enemies.
History
Initially a private ship commission, the vessel was intended to be a production of only one ship. A lesser warlord, Zartid, already owner of a considerable fleet of Geckos, approached Ace & Faber looking to own an unparalleled personal craft. As a rule he would always be flanked by several escorts, hence the ship's design was to emphasize shield strength, shield regeneration, and great maximum speed to secure his escape. Combat ferocity was certainly not ignored, but there no consideration for cargo space nor passenger accommodation.
As the model was essentially built around the customer, many personality traits made their way deep into the technology. Zartid was not an excellent marksman, but extremely fond of great speed. Even equipped with a Military Laser, he was prone to miss his target, however with superior shields to most, a substantial amount of his victims died by getting rammed.
While Zartid would eventually perish within his prototype Hawk, Ace & Faber, would go on to produce a very small number of craft for those willing to pay for the hand-fitted production of this unusual design. However, while the Zartid prototype had a specially fitted aft Military Laser for his escape strategy, the available model is only offered in a frontal direction. This space it here utilised for compressed living quarters, which may not be spacious, but provides ample luxury.
