Overview
The largest ship produced by the Ionics Corporation for general sale, it was initially designed and manufactured exclusively for the Zarian government in 3102-3103. In 3115 the Redback was first released for sale to the general public, re-equipped as a competitive cargo ship with decent defenses.
Military Service
The Redback was designed in 3102-3103, shortly after Ionics Corporation entered into an exclusive contract with the Zarian government. Its primary purpose was as a mobile mission control center, leading fleets of Whitetails into battle. The extraordinarily low profile for a ship of this size combined with a relatively high speed and formidable armaments made it a capable solo-fighter as well. It earned high marks in its first theater of operations, the Ramazan civil war, which broke out in 3104.
