Overview

One of the rare specimens of the prototype carrier Jormundgand.

The Jormundgand is a Class Carrier ship produced in small numbers by Aegidian Industries, in preparation for their GalCop commission to deliver the Behemoth class warship.

The ship was instrumental in the process working out the many challenges concerning the production of a massive vessel capable of docking and carrying ships.

The process proved more arduous than initially outlined, however. As the allocated funds were becoming scarce and the deadline to deliver on the naval contract was running out, the intended plans to manufacture the carrier on a large scale were entirely cancelled, and all resources of Aegidian Shipyards were refocussed on presenting the warship on schedule.

A very few rare examples of the Jormundgand may still conceivably be spotted in space. Going by the generic ID handle "Bulk Hauler", these ships under private ownership are normally converted into moblile markets.

Bootleg OXP

An unreleased Aegidian OXP from 2006, the Jormundgand was never officially released into the Oolite body of expansion packs. An unfinished beta version exists for the historical record.
