The original version was Dr Nil who says virtually nothing about it (click the history tab on the top and then click the date of whichever version you wish to read).
So it was purposefully kept secret. There are a number of similar wiki pages.
Back in the days when the forum was more active, new players were continually told that the Ore Processor is a money-spinner, so those details were not "needed".
