An Expensive Trip is a story by Dylan Smith set in the Frontier universe.
Short abstract
Winston goes home to visit his family in Phekda, for the first time in six years. However, on the way in his ship is attacked by a Viper with a good pilot, and suffers serious damage. It turns out that coming home is rather more expensive than expected.
