The name
It's a bit painful. I can't help feeling that it is meant to be The Devil's Triangle. Of course if it is a triangle of many devils, I yearn for a confirmation that this is intentional. OLDMURGH talk 07:00, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Might be from coding, I am not sure if Devil's is accepted by a Mac, even as text variable. Btw I intend to add some background story to this region, starting with the inhabitants today.

Had a search on the BB and found nothing about the name. I posted a query for Cmdr Cheyd who might be able to answer (he drops in occasionally).
Artists' credit
Montana - do we need to worry ourselves into a psychotic state about being sued by the creators of these pictures of yours? Where do they come from? I'm sure its a needless worry (free game, etc., etc., ...) but...
Do Murgh and I need to sell everything we own and leg it out east to join you in the Devil's Triangle?

Most of the pictures are from free to use webpages, tweaked and merged together. 1 picture {Edzaon} I am not sure about the source, I will do some research before I publish it.

PNGWING Non-commercial use, DMCA. Last one free to use as well. Don't expect pictures for every single planet, while I might add several species for a single planet (multicultural) I only intend to edit systems an OXP I am working on is touching. Edzaon, partner of the Devil's Triangle, inhabited by lobstoids and human knights.
While the Devil's Triangle could be fun, I doubt that you will need a ticket soon.

Disclaimer, links and, if available, artist and license are now available on every page and, thanks to Cholmondeley, are also included in the pictures.
Currently, the Devil's Triangle square of influence includes the 3 basic systems, Edzaon (mercenaries) and Ququor as "legit" market and banking place. I think I will add Esgerean as a drug producer as well. Any other system which would make sense ? Montana05 2022-02-05, 07:34

Good point, I forgot about Ininbi. With a techlevel of 10 and an easy way to secure, it could be an industrial hub for advanced productions. Once again, some or all states controlled by groups from the Devil's Triangle. Montana05 2022-02-05, 08:23

This page could do with some content.
1) Why is it called the "Devil's Triangle"? Just because it consists of 3 anarchies inside a cleverly drawn triangle which excludes the fourth system Ininbi which is a confederate state (also human, but much richer)? Why exclude Ininbi? And why "Devil" rather than Demon, dratted or damned? And whose Devil? CGC's? Witchspace Lobster's? Randomius Factoria's? Church of the Holy Witchspace Guard?
2) Is there any history to the Devil's Triangle?
3) And why a region? Just three insignificant systems... in an entire massive zone of Galaxy 1 - which is not a region itself. But this miniscule triangle is!
4) Why are these three systems anarchies? Is it a common cause?

The lore goes that in the past, the systems of the Devil's Triangle were ruled by a powerful leader. After his death, a terrible civil war broke out, all fractions seeking to take over his position. After decades, only anarchies were left.
Today, the region is run by criminal organizations, having large influence in neighboring systems. You probably could call it a region of influence rather than geographies.
While the original name is long forgotten, this nightmare to GalCop security forces became known as the Devil's Triangle.

- Yes, the answers to these questions ought to complete a juicy synopsis of how this peripheral zone came to its ominous reputation. I'm just speculating but I would think it would be a practical devil rather than one of spiritual origins, a demagogue who printed his mark on the planetary neighbourhood lingering on several generations after his passing.
- In a once sleepy edge region of little remark but with consistent presence of law and order, the charismatic and creatively cruel pirate lord Shasta "The Cheesemonger", saddled with an unquenchable appetite for power and cheese, grew to accrue such a strength that he was able to wage war on these ill-prepared planetary governments and toppled them one by one. Ininbi escaped this fate when its leaders rushed to declare their subservient neutrality, and during Shasta's thirty year long reign of smelly cruelty, they never once complained. As a strategic stronghold was established, GalCop saw no economic upside to moving in and decided to ignore this peripheral nuisance, checked off as lost to barbarism.
- No successor was able to fill Shasta's boots and maintain his empire united as minor warlords fought for their turf, but the lawlessness was by then so deeply rooted and the entire region permanently fixed as a pirate's hub and haven. Few still living have any memory of this epoch, but Shasta lives on in folksy sayings like "May the stinky one take you!" and "The devil is in the cheese", incidentally a produce that is still widely rendered with great variation in the region, and a well-known and desired connoisseur's commodity for those brave enough to seek it out.
