The author was bored of the uninspired bonks of the vanilla hit sounds and made his own, better ones.
The OXP was peer reviewed by a staggering 2 people. This extensive review proved that it was indeed an improvement.
Compatibility with BGS and other sound OXPs
To make sure compatibility with BGS and other OXPs, make sure to download and install Better Damage Sounds AFTER them. Oolite code makes sure that the last OXP loaded would trump every other before them.
