The Copperhead is a ship that was introduced in ArcElite.
The data card states: "Originally designed for low-altitude planet-skimming, the Copperhead became confined to space after problems with corrosion of its copper-based hull material. Due to it being equipped with a rejected precursor of the Cobra Mk.III Mous, this ship is often observed flying rather erratically. However, do not mistake it for a 'crazy craft'.
Trivia
The model is believed to be identical to the player craft from the David Braben designed Acorn Archimedes 1987 game "Zarch" (initially released as a demo bundled with purchased computers called "Lander"), and later ports to other platforms as "Virus".
