RL - "Radical Logistics"

The ship design workshop "Radical Logistic" was once located on Rea in Galaxy 3/(192,146). Most design blueprints Radical Logistics used had come from old military ships. They wanted to redesign the old carriers, gunships and bombers that were used in the Sidewinder Revolt event for the civilian market.

Two ships were in production, one was planned when Mickey Moriaty, the head designer left for other projects and never managed to finish them. When speaking over GALnet Mickey Moriarty offered Amah to maintain, distribute and improve the Radical Logistics vessels. He even offered to scan the company's archive to find the blueprints, design and ship's specifications to Project: Lira.

Ships

Yasen-N (Ясень-M)

from RL's design team memo: "Almost the same size than a Python the 85YN Yasen was designed for infantery fast development on ground based combat missions. Due to the character on these kind of incursions the handling and speed matches lighter ships. This was successfully achieved improving the engines design and losing near half of its cargo capabilities. The Yasen-N flagship supported up to three cannon turrets in order to defend it from anti-aircraft fire, town flying force and guided missiles. None or those turrets are available in the civil basic version but by using the space of the unneccessary plasma unit for the turrets the cargo hold can be enlarged to 70TC. The 'advanced' Yasen-N however offers a rear turret for deep space trading issues as heavy piracy activity, rock hermit attacks or bug squating, but looses the possibility to have a large coargo bay."

Due to GalCOP regulations Radical Logistics had to abandon the plans of producing the three turretted Yasen-N flagship for the civilian market. But according to some unknown insider any commander with the right tools and some deeper knowledge about the internals of the configuration the ship's data and willing to make his hands and conscience dirty can pimp a Yasen-N "Advanced" to have more than one turret.

Skat (Скат)

From the press announcements: "Skat is a very fast ship initially based on the 09LTC for undercover vigilance missions or high-speed personal transport. It serves well as light transport-courier. The Skat was built to run away from problems more than to combat two or three enemy ships at the same time. A good choice for Passenger transport, keeping deadlines, or both."

Lira (Лира)

The Lira is an outdated bulky 51AT army transporter once used for deploying troops, machines and personnel, now refurbished for civilian use. It is placed between the Boa Mk2 and the Anaconda but is much faster. The ship has a default rear defense turret, to give it something to bite back.

Radical Logistics project redesigning the Lira was unfinished for a long time. After rediscovering the blueprints in the companies archives, a prototype was outfitted and going on some test flights across the Galaxies. Soon after a tragic accident at Veanso (212,240)/Galaxy7 where a whole starboard section broke off on fuel injectors, it was clear that the four retrofitted Rasputin-X engines had to be tamed and all plans to reach top-speed just below 0.400lm had to be cancelled. Their power, the thrust, and the Lira's turn and roll rates were reduced in order to keep the structural integrety intact and thus providing safety of crew and cargo. Still fast for such a big ship, the Lira now "only" does 0.370lm and is just slightly better manouverable than an Anaconda. But all in all it should be still sufficient to run off if trouble is too big.

The cargohold can be increased to just 235tc, by reducing the size of the former captain's mass and officers quarters, even though the Lira is bigger than the Anaconda in almost all aspects. When the military initially ordered the ship one of the premisses was that it should have the largest cargo possible without hypercargo technology, which many officers deeply distrusted. So, it turned out quite large, so watch your head when docking.
