Overview

The Armoured Transport T1 is the principal craft employed by the powerful firm Gaundlet Security Inc. Their commanders are so secure in their confidence, they will fly into anarchic systems and feudal war zones with full navigation lights on, without hesitation. Their confidence is justified because the T1 is the tank of the spacelanes, its triple hull built with thick duraniumsteel, and armed to the teeth with the most advanced equipment available on the open market (for those who grease a few palms).

Gaundlet Security Inc.

Gaundlet is considered the leading transporter of high value cargo. Most notably in their roster of clients of great economic importance, is the contract to move and distribute the GalCom payroll. This was initiated, some say, when GalCom's impatience with the increasingly frequent spacelane banditry came to an end. Before landing this lucrative contract, Gaundlet were specialised in blockade running and other high-risk pick-up and delivery contracts. The company still eagerly services the most volatile parts of space, but nowadays will have no involvement with smuggling. At least, not officially. Their motto was, and still is, "We get it there, nothing can stop us".

Notable Features

With an arsenal of four swiveling plasma turrets, four missiles and a keel-mounted military laser, the T1 is almost unstoppable. Indeed only a well-orchestrated and long-sustained attack by a large swarm of maneuvrable craft can cripple this beast. Succesfull pirate predation on transports has become even more scarce since the introduction of the Armoured Viper as devoted escort, protecting its vulnerable rear. Still, in spite of the miniscule odds, attempts to ambush Gaundlet convoys continue to be frequent as it is common knowledge that an Armoured Transport will always carry cargo worth several tonnes in gold.
