This looks like an interesting project. I still have to install the game and try it out. I was a big fan of Elite. I played it on the C64 and later started all over on an IBM XT clone and once again on a later IBM clone with a color display.
I am/was a big contributor to en.wiktionary.org. Discovering this game is probably not going to help in making time available for editing there a lot anymore. It's great to see this game available as free software now. It was the game I loved the most.
