Mandotech Industries is a modest, but growing, ship building company. Mandotech Industries Goal is to build ships for all purposes. Our humble beginnings originated on the Tech Level 9 planet, in Galaxy Sector 8, of Oresreat. After a short period of small ship building, the company has moved to the Tech Level 14 System of Esusale, in Galaxy Sector 8, and is in the process of building their new, ultra modern Headquarters, and ship building facility. From there, Mandotech Ind. is hoping to expand to having a similar presence in all of the other 7 Galaxy Sectors.
Wishing to stay in good form with GalCop, and the Corporate States, all further facilities will be located in Systems with a Tech Level no Lower than 13. This is a fledgling company, striving for excellence in a Galaxy filled with brilliance. More to come.
The very first ships to fly out of the Mandotech Ind. scaffolds were the SunBat series. SunBats were designed for speed, and high maneuverability in a dogfight. In the right hands, they are a deadly opponent. The three ships that comprise this series are:
1. The SunBat Original [2]
Sleek, and dead black, the only giveaway this ship has is the bright yellow sun burst on the wings. Don't let those fool you, as they make very little difference when you are trying to aim up on this black menace. Of course, Mandotech Ind. likes to think of this ship being used as a defense ship, or escort, or some other role well within the law. Unfortunately, pirates have obtained them as well, so keep your eyes open for a bat attack.
2. The SunBatMkII [3]
If you can imagine an even sleeker version of the SunBat, it may look like the pictures to the left. Not only did the designers at Mandotech manage to make the ship more stream lined, it is also 5LS faster than the original, and much harder to kill. Alas, we felt that going any further in this direction would only cause trouble, as the pirates have obtained the SunBatMkII as well.
3. The NovaBat [4]
To top off (or should I say "bottom off") the SunBat line is the much larger NovaBat. While not as fast as either of the first two ships, it still boast a max-speed of 500LS. Add to that more missiles, heavy duty lasers, and three times the cargo capacity, and you have a really nice trader ship, able to fend for itself.
Always progressing forward, Mandotech Industries set out to develope a series of fighter ships that use ball turrets. The first drafts showed what many thought an "insectile" look. Therefore, the new series was dubbed "The Killer Insect Series". There were to be four ships in this series. From smallest to largest, they are The FireAnt, The YellowJacket, The GreenHornet, and The Mantis. While Mandotech Industries is predominately human (though there are other species employed with us), the Killer Insect Series took on a disturbing "alien" look. We thought it was great, but understand that our tastes do not always appeal to everyone. The Killer Insect Series is as follows:
1. THE FIREANT [5]
This colorfull little ship is fast, and packs a double punch. Two lasers, and two small ball turrets make this a formidable ship, and is often used for escorting the big haulers.
