Overview
Manufactured by the Perez Corporation the Merlin is a rather commonplace light fighter in the Alliance and Federation. Often pilots will purchase this as a second ship, it is slightly better than the Saker Mk 3 in almost all respects.
Notable Features
With a reasonably useful capacity, reasonably useful engine, the Merlin would be a reasonably useful fighter.
Disadvantages
Except that it's just not that much of an improvement over the Saker Mk.3. A beginning commander would be better advised to chase a Cobra Mk. III or a Viper.
Verdict
It is not the fastest light fighter out there, but offers decent space for its class. You might find it useful for fast courier missions. Watch out for gangs of these birds attacking you simultaneously!
