Hi, are these ai-roles hardcoded or moddable? Looks like someone did no checks of the behaviour ... My favourite space game (with modding) is X - just have a look at the scripting section [http://www.egosoft.com/x3/forum/viewforum.php?f=66 over there] for some checks. If the graphics and gameplay of Oolite were better, I'd have a look about the game ai to make it more user/modder friendly. + | The AI described here is the default AI. If you call a ship "trader" then by default it gets the built in traderAI. You can over-ride this by setting the AutoAI command in shipdata.plist to false and then ship will then use the custom built AI set out in the shipdata.plist. Plan to expand and link this article next weekend. ATM its really just a C&P of a PM I'd sent to Lestrade to help him pick roles for Realistic Shipyards. LB 13/5/08 |

Ship AI Modding
Hi, are these ai-roles hardcoded or moddable? Looks like someone did no checks of the behaviour ... My favourite space game (with modding) is X - just have a look at the scripting section over there for some checks. The AI described here is the default AI. LB 13/5/08
