Their confidence is justified because the T1 is the tank of the spacelanes, its triple hull built with thick duraniumsteel, and armed to the teeth with the most advanced equipment available on the open market (for those who grease a few palms).

Indeed only a well-orchestrated and long-sustained attack by a large swarm of maneuvrable craft can cripple this beast. Succesfull pirate predation on transports has become even more scarce since the introduction of the Armoured Viper as devoted escort, protecting its vulnerable rear. Still, in spite of the miniscule odds, attempts to ambush Gaundlet convoys continue to be frequent as it is common knowledge that an Armoured Transport will always carry cargo worth several tonnes in gold.
