Frontier First Encounters marked the first inclusion of Full Motion Video (FMV) in an Elite game. It was only available in the CD version of FFE, as the videos took up some 500MB of storage space. General opinion is that this was a wasted 500MB, as the videos vary between excruciating and hilarious.
